BOLINAO, PANGASINAN
Located about 330 kms North of Manila is the beautiful coastal town of Bolinao, Pangasinan's westernmost town. Its lush and coastal landscape and mixed geography of hulls, rocky coast mostly of coral stones, and of course its
famous Patar white beach which they call "mala Boracay". In terms of its white sand quality and being been to various beaches from up North at Pagudpud to down South at Dakak and Samal, i can say that this is the best in Luzon. Kung polvoron ang consistency ng sand sa Bora, sa Patar is fine dirty white sugar naman. I say that snorkeling is a must since the coral reefs here are still intact and protected. Another worthwhile attraction are the numerous "underground" freshwater springs that provide a cold freshwater respite from the ocean's salt. If you want a panoramic view of the coastline you can climb up the Lighthouse located on a hill midway between the town proper and Patar. The town proper boasts of the centuries old church with its limestone construction. Recommended resorts would be Treasures of Bolinao and Puerto del Sol. although i would personally prefer Treasures since it is already located along Patar beach. For those on a budget, you could rent cottages or even bring in your camping gear.If you really want privacy, this is it.[img]

Anawangin Cove
i don't know if you guys have heard of this place called Anawangin in Zambales. It's a surreal piece of nature. I think this is the only beach where pine trees line up the coast and not the usual coconuts...

i just have to put this in...

yup doc... one of the islands is capones. that's the one with the lighthouse. Anawangin is abt a 30min boatride from capones. ang jumpoff usually for Anawangin is Brgy. Pundaquit also in San Antonio.

Re: GREAT HIDEAWAYS
aside from the view, ok rin ang babes na nagpupunta sa cove. dahil secluded siya, mas malakas loob ng mga tao na mag bikinis and sunbathe...

how to get to anawangin
ei enzo! sorry sa late reply...
you can go to anawangin taking any Victory Bus to San Antonio, Zambales. fare is about 200/pax. once in San Antonio, one can take a trike to to Pundaquit Beach. from there, there are a lot of pumpboats that can take you to Anawangin Cove, Zambales. fare is usually 100/pax for a one-way trip. each pumpboat can seat seven.

the boats

views from the sea
if you're the adventurist, it is possible to reach Anawangin by land from Pundaquit. You need a guide who'll charge either P800 for the group (2 ways), or P50 pax - it depends on who you talk to. The hike takes about 3 hours. It sounds fun to hike it to the cove, and take the boat on the return.

the start of the trek

near the summit
The cove has a fairly decent stretch with fine white sand and little crabs running around. You could venture far out to sea before it gets deep. Except for a make-shift hay comfort rooms and a well water, there is virtually no infrastructure - no Boracay-type resort lodging of any kind...just a flat expanse of shaded ground for beach camping. And that's really the beauty of Anawangin - shaded beach camping in an isolated cove.

the CR

camping under the pine trees

anawangin waters

wave!!!
btw, there's a family in Anawangin that takes care of the beach. they would charge a minimal P50/pax for an overnight stay.
Hope this helps!

Re: GREAT HIDEAWAYS
sadly bro walang hotels sa area. the nearest is pundaquit beach which is a 20 min boat ride away. pero medyo rustic ang amenities. anawangin talaga is just for camping...
