Post by jeter08 on Mon Sep 01, 2008 3:08 pm

Yeng Guiao is the best to coach the next National team, I hope he will include these players:

the best line-up for me:

Lordy Tugade
James Yap
Gabe Norwood
Anthony Washington
Kelly Williams
Jared Dillinger
Jimmy Alapag
Jay-jay Helterbrand
Asi taulava
Japeth Aguilar
Sam Eman
Mick Penisi

kayo sino nasa line-up nyo?

kailangan siguro, ihasa na sa international competition si Ryan Reyes. tanggalin na si Helterbrand. Sam eman is still raw so i think Yancy de Ocampo would be a better replacement. i also think sonny thoss should be there

starting lineup pwedeng ganito

C - japeth aguilar
PF - kelly williams
SF - ranidel de ocampo/arwind santos/kg canaleta
SG - dilinger/norwood
PG - ryan reyes/alapag

Still a long way for us but we can keep on dreaming.

Any line-up as long as Arwin Santos is in it. Great all-around player. XD

as for me, it would be hard to catch-up with them, it will take us years to develop tall guys that can play like shaq, gasol or even a mutombo....

actually right now there's already the RP youth team. they just finish 7th place in the FIBA Asia junior championships. di ko lang sure kung under19 or under 16. its a good start to develop our future talents to compete at a high level in international basketball.

Why do you go after the short fix, without adressing the long term causes.Basketball will always be a game of Height and Heft, and that is something which Filipinos lack.

well it wouldnt hurt if you could do both. we could both train young men, keep their core until they get matured and just add the fil-am or naturalized player reinforcements.

basketball is already very popular in our country. i dont think we still would be needing that. there's also no question on that talent and calibre of the pro players we have right now. what we really need badly is height. we lack big men for international competitions. big men who could shoot the ball from outside and still ove quickly.
