The plan's aren't that expensive if you compare it to the AT&T plans offered in the US. What's expensive is if you buy the iPhone for prepaid. Sa US, i think it goes for $600 without a plan. Gonverting that, it should sell for less than 30K here. Pero sa globe, 43K (ata). Definitely a Sales tactic to get more postpaid subscribers.

It is a nice phone or rather a gadget as it is more than a phone. Twisted Evil

I got it here is HK. Locked up for 24months at HK$500/month. That's around Php2900/month. All unlimited (calls, sms and data). Then I get the 16Gb iPhone 3G for free.

Cons: (added more...)
1. Can't forward SMS.
2. Hard to type.
3. No Bluetooth Data transmission.
4. No Memory expansion support.
5. Tied to iTunes (can be Jailbreak'ed).
6) Can't distinguish between Incoming and Outgoing Calls
7) No Call Times/Duration
Cool No A2DP Support

as i understand that it can be jailbreak'ed already, as i read it at ihacks.com (do this at your own risk though)...

likewise there are applications in the works that would allow you to send or transmit files using bluetooth.... Very Happy

great phone pero there are also the problems that come hand in hand with 3g
.... like the wife trying to open a 3g discussion just to see if you are where you say you are... it has issues that relate to a person's personal whereabouts

from what i've learned from globe after their talks with apple ... steve jobs realized their mistake by not tying up with the telco providers around the world hence, the units were sold in the gray market.

of course now that he realized, he wants to render all the earlier models useless. hence he's coming up with project "brick". once you upgrade the old unit and connect it to your pc, a software is launched to render all the apps useless.

Looks like steve is showing signs he's getting too much chemo for that problem of his
for him to do the Brick project as described here, as this may be construed as
very serious damages. If this happens to the phones and it was sold in whatever
market, as Brand New, then...some bright boy may just have the right mind
to sue this guy down to his pancreas for maliciously harming personal property
In my mind the best defense to this is not to buy any of that apple stuff until
the market gets over the honeymoon stage where in they think the phone is the
greatest gift Jobs ever gave mankind.

yoh! bro's im a apple fanatic although can't afford much of the products iv'e cope up with the latest trends in jailbraking and now im using a normal pc that runs a mac osx latest version and i'm also a programmer of xcode the language for unix or iphones. well steve jobs have created a kill switch and itunes 8 doesnt support old versions of iphones but the problem there is that iphone is running a unix based OS which means its open source. I believe with the brilliancy of filipino and international programmers and hackers could cope up with the developers of apple.heres a proof try to check "winpwn" it's a software for jailbreaking 2.0 firmware iphones including 3G. im using it right now hehehehe.
